Here's my latest illustration! If you're in the Star Cat tier on my Patreon you might have seen the work in progress post for this. In this illustration I practiced using gradient maps for adding color after it was rendered in grayscale.

Once I added a gradient map, I used more clipping mask layers to add subtle color details, giving the art some variety.

One thing I enjoyed was not having to think about color until the very end, because I can be indecisive with color palettes. With a gradient map workflow, color decisions don't come up until later, so I can get into more of a flow state and not get hung up on a decision making process.
The tools used to make this illustration were:
- Procreate
- Apple Pencil
- iPad Pro.
Dimensions: 8 x 10 inches at 600 DPI (4800 x 6000 pixels).
Tracked time: 13 hours and 21 minutes.
